Why do I need an e-CYREN account?
Because having an e-CYREN account could make the difference in saving a life, yours or a loved one, in the even of a disaster or emergency.
Nearly every day we hear about some natural and man-made disasters. Emergency preparedness experts urge us to be ready to respond and or help rescuers in the even of disasters or emergencies. In addition, as we (or our loved ones) grow older, we tend to have more encounters with physicians and other care providers. In many instances, timely access to relevant emergency contact and medical information can mean the difference between life and death. When e-CYREN is accessible for the right person at the right time it can result in reducing medical errors due to a lack of information or communicating in advance, where to meet in a disaster.
We know that families cannot always be together when a crisis strikes, e-CYREN helps families and organizations quickly communicate with one another in an emergency and pre-identify where everyone will meet when home is not an option.
What do I need to access e-CYREN?
e-CYREN can be accessed anywhere internet access is available 24/7. There is no software to download. For best results, we recommend the use of Internet Explorer (6.x or greater) or FireFox (1.5 or greater). This site has been tested using Windows and MAC Operating Systems.
Is my data secured?
Yes. You can be sure that you your data is safe and secure. Your data is stored in a professionally managed data center which uses the latest internet security technologies to protect your information and makes it available when needed by authorized persons. Additionally, we use HyperText Transfer Protocol with Secure Sockets Layer (HTTPS), which is a protocol to transfer encrypted data over the Web.
Will e-CYREN or CYJ Enterprises, LLC ever sell or share my personal identifiable information to any third party?

What do I need to create an account?
All you need is an email account and internet access. An email account is needed by the person creating your account as they will serve as the primary member and will be responsible for updating and maintaining the records of those individuals from whom they are authorized.
What types of information are stored in e-CYREN?
e-CYREN maintains the information that is needed in an emergency. Although e-CYREN contains medical information, it is NOT an Electronic Medical Record (EMR) nor is it just a Patient Health Record (PHR); however, it is an emergency management system that contains the vital information that can improve health care and save lives.
e-CYREN contains a person-centered profile, that includes demographic information, who to contact in an emergency, medical history, list of physicians and other care providers, immunizations, medication regime, allergies and an emergency communication plan. The emergency communication plan documents up to 4 locations where a family will meet in an emergency.
Who has access to my information?
As the subscriber, only you have access to your e-CYREN account. Because your e-CYREN account is exclusively controlled by you, it is important not to share your user-id and password with anyone else. If you believe your password has been compromised, you should change your password.
Why should we document where a family or organization will meet in an emergency?
Most emergencies occur with very little warning. Therefore, being prepared is critical to minimizing the loss of life and eliminating or reducing injuries. Planning, before an emergency or crisis, where to meet loved ones (co-workers or colleagues) helps to ensure all are better positioned for a safer outcome.
Both FEMA and the Red Cross recommend identifying at least one out-of-state reunification location.
How can we incorporate e-CYREN into our Crisis Communication Plan?
Every family or organization should have an emergency plan. e-CYREN helps detail how your family or organization plans to communicate with others during and after a disaster. e-CYREN can send mass communication messages to residents, family members, and other organizations in minutes, reducing the time an effort involved when contacting individuals by phone.
How is my information accessed in an emergency?
Make sure to carry your e-CYREN information form at all times. Coming soon, you will be able to create a user name and password to be used by medical personnel to access your information on a limited basis.
