We would love to hear from you on your plans for keeping your children entertained for the summer. With so many families feeling the effects of the economy, we would like to share with our readers the different ways that you can enjoy the summer on a shoe string budget.

Perhaps you are taking a “Staycation”, a term coined to describe a period of time a person stays home or takes day trips in lieu of traveling to another city, state or country to relax.
If you are planning to take a Staycation, you may want to consider becoming a tourist in your own city. Enjoy places that you have not visited, create an itinerary and strategically plot your trip to decrease gas consumption, while optimizing family time by enjoying the trip as well as the destination.
Take advantage of dollar movies, visit a park, go bike riding or swimming as a family or play Frisbee with the dog. A great place to find other ideas is to visit your local Convention and Visitors Bureau.
So, whatever you plan to do, please be safe and let us know by sharing in the comment area.
